Feng Shui Guardian Spirits helpersGuardian spirit helpers are a powerful part of Feng Shui cures. Any representation of such a guardian should be treated with respect or not used at all. Chi Lin is the name of a particular Feng Shui guardian spirit helper. This highest ranking royal guardian is very loyal to its owner(s), protects their home or office from evil, and brings them blessings of good heath and prosperity. Chi Lin has the head of a dragon, the body of a horse, and the scales of a carp fish. Representations of Chi Lin are often made in sculpture, embroidery, and paintings. Placing these images in the entrance way of your family living room is auspicious. The bedroom, bathroom, and garage are inappropriate places for Chi Lin images to be placed. The four Celestial Animals have Taoist roots, and are used as guardians in Feng Shui. The Black Tortoise is the guardian of the north; the White Tiger is guardian of the West, The Red Phoenix is guardian of the south, and the Green Dragon is guardian of the east. These four guardians have roots in the landscape based "Form" school of traditional Chinese Feng Shui, where geomorphological features are attributed characteristics of these four guardians. The Dragon is a guardian helper spirit that is widely used in Feng Shui. Representing strong Yang or male energy, dragons are popular Feng Shui cures. They symbolize security, vigilance, and change. Feng Shui seeks to capture the "Dragon's Breath", a euphemism for positive Chi. A Dragon can be placed in most areas of the home (as long as it is harmonious with the other d?cor elements there), but many people decide where to put one based on facing their lucky directions according to their kua number, and on facing the wealth star (which changes location every year, thereby necessitating the reorientation of the dragon). No more than 5 dragons should be used in one home, and they should not be placed in bathrooms, closets, or garages. Dragons like open spaces, so place them accordingly. The dragon should not be placed too high above eye level. A pearl or crystal in the dragon's paw represents abundance of opportunities, wealth, and power. Be sure that an indoor dragon does not have its pearl facing a window or door. Out door dragons facing the house bring wealth Chi, and should have plenty of space from the nearest wall. Green dragons on the east side, or in your health gua, are blessings for renewal and good health. Golden dragons in your prosperity gua bring blessings of wealth and abundance. If you use a dragon in your love/ relationship gua, then pair it with the phoenix. This combination is auspicious for marital bliss, yet also represents conflict.
